"Encore please!!!"
Satriani has such an awesome on-stage/album song energy, if you closed your eyes you would think you were listening to an album demo version of these songs! As for Johnson? Someone throw a Beer at him! It was like he was in studio, he didn't mess up once! The only complaint I could make about him, is that his song "SRV" was nothing like Stevie Ray Vaughan's style. And Vai? Well, I saw Him and Satriani in Chicago at their last "G3" tour, and I can understand why people like him, but Satriani and Petrucci were so much cleaner, and their songs had much more feeling than his did. That's the way it was their and it's the way it is on here. Still, he's fun to watch mess around on stage, and he's really good at entertaining and including the audience in his performances. Very nice video, even nicer concert!

"Very Good"
This is a very good performance, but Joe Satriani is much better on his own DVD. The sound on this recording could be better mixed, however, Eric Johnson is absolutely fantastic!! I only wish Eric would release his own DVD. If you are a guitarist or guitar fan of rock or jass-rock fusion you will greatly enjoy this recording. However, be prepared, the performances are short.

"biggest disappointment of any DVD I've ever purchased"
I've seen Satriani and Johnson live, and I have to say this video captures NONE of the good energy or stage presence these men possess. The song selection is very questionable. Not nearly as much/many pyrotechnics as I'd expect from these players. The video recording quality is low, and there are surprisingly few sustained close-ups of the picking and fretting. Eric Johnson's guitar was mixed WAY too low! Sounds like he's 10 dB lower than the other two. I had really high hopes, because I know what these guys are capable of. EXTREMELY disappointed. (And although Eric Johnson is probably my favorite of the three... as an SRV fan, I was really perplexed with EJ's "tribute" to Stevie. I'd have expected him to include a few borrowed SRV licks or in some way try to "channel" some of SRV's feel/sound/attitude. Nothing in the song made me thing of Stevie except Eric's spoken introduction/dedication.)

This one goes up for sale soon. I had such high hopes...

"g3 mania"
This stuff is the [best] ,the three best instrumentilists of 1996 all in one concert (the names are joe satriani, steve vai and my personal favourite eric johnson) with a biography for each of them , including the finally with all three Gs playing together in jimmi hendrix's very own RED HOUSE also going down and my guitar wnts to kill tour mama( also one of my favourites). if you like instrumentals like i do this is a must buy.you can even choose whatsong you wnt to listen to. I only gave it 4 stars because the song selection is very limited and u can't really hear the voices too well.

"Raw Guitar, Refined Music"
I got this DVD from the lead guitarist in my band for my birthday. It is simply amazing. It is definitely all about the music, just like G3 was supposed to be. The menus are simple, the DVD loads up to the title screen extremely fast, and then you jump straight into the music. Some people complain about the lack of mixing on this DVD. That's BS... they don't mix it because it isn't needed. You can easily distinguish between the artists different sounds, and still get the live sound that you should. I would highly recommend this DVD to any guitarist, as well as any Satriani, Vai, or Johnson fan. And hearing all three of them jam together at gives this DVD an even more amazing value.
