![]() You wanted the best, you got the best and more.. Excellent ![]() I love this dvd. Kiss sounds the best I've heard them sound since putting the makeup back on. As listed above disk 1 has the Kiss Symphony story and Act 3. Disk 2 is the full show plus the Rove Live interview and performance. During Act 1 the editing is bad but Act 2 has less crowd shots still a lot of shot cutting and Act 3 has the least shot cutting and crowd. The editing is why I give this dvd 4 stars, the audio is great, pic quality is great. I've gotta say I think Kiss Symphony is better than Metallica S&M, I think the Symphony fits with Kiss better than it does with Metallica. The best part of Act 1 is Let Me Go Rock and Roll, Act 2 is Beth, you wouldn't believe the difference between this version of Beth and the vesion done with a tape. And Act 3 has the song that makes this dvd worth getting and it's Great Expectations. I was blown away by this song, I thought it would be good but I have to say for me this is the best song performed. To be the fist time performed live it sounds like they've been playing it for 27 years. You can't and will not go wrong with this dvd. ![]() First, I am really glad I taped the New Jersey farewell concert. Who hired the Moron for editing? Who let this get out? As with all the other reviews this DVD is nearly impossible to watch. You barley have a chance to see the new Ace (or anybody) play for more than 2 seconds. It can only be good if you were there & want to see yourself, (good chance of that as the show is 75% fan shots). I could only recommend this for a real diehard KISS fan. I still think Tommy needs his own character. I'll be watching the Jersey VHS (which should be put out on DVD), while this one sits on a shelf. ![]() This has to be my favorite concert DVD I own,and I own quite a few.KISS are my favorite band.Anybody who has been to one of their concerts knows they put on an explosive show. This is the best example of this. This DVD is divided into 3 acts.Act One is KISS onstage in full makeup performing 6 classics.Act Two features KISS onstage with acoustics performing 5 acoustic songs with the Melbourne Symphony Ensemble. This was the first time Peter had sang "Beth" with a full string section.Until now,he had just sang it with a tape.Act Three is KISS onstage with the full symphony performing ten more classics, mostly from "Destroyer".Highlights include "Love Gun","Rock And Roll All Nite",and "God Of Thunder".The main highlight is "I Was Made For Lovin' You".I used to hate this song, but now I love it,because the awesome Tommy Thayer makes this into a hard rock song instead of disco.I can't tell a difference between him and Ace Frehley.Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons look great and sound great for guys almost fifty.Disc One features a documentary about how this was made, and, for some odd reason,Act Three from Disc Two.(...) The bonus features on this DVD are an interview and performance of "Sure Know Something" from the Australian talk show "Rove!Live",and some interactive weblinks. ![]() A big thank you Amazon for allowing customers to write reviews of products. I was going to buy this DVD, but due to over 90% of the reviews detailing the poor editing, I will be steering clear of this DVD! I am going to wait for it to be hopefully re-released in the future with correct editing ie. more KISS footage, more symphony footage and less audience footage! And most of all, longer shots! Thanks again to the readers who've saved me money! |
