"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"
This is the very DVD that helped me become such a huge Dream Theater fan. This is a good way to start out if you want to get into Dream Theater, because this is not for die-hard fans only. When the concert starts out, your interested right away, and you really want to watch the rest of it. Songs like "Overture 1928", "Fatal Tragedy", and "Spirit Carries On" are great songs with intricate song structures, well put together, and if you really like guitar solos then watch the John and Teresa solo spot. Another great thing about this DVD is the deleted scenes, "Learning to Live" and "Change of Seasons" are amazing, don't forget to watch them and the others too. Once you have watched the whole thing you feel like buying the album SFAM or maybe some other one. This is a great start for getting into this incredible band.

All the band members have talent, plain and simple, they are all extraordinary musicians and their music is completely different, much better than the other garbage that's out there these days. John Petrucci is one of the greatest guitarists ever in my opinion, he really has a unique style and plays stuff that is nearly impossible. John Myung is amazing, when i first saw that bass solo in "Dance of Eternity" I was completely shocked, I never knew anyone could do such a thing on a bass! Mike Portnoy is an amazing drummer with amazing control and great rhythm sense, the drum solo at the end of "Finally Free" never ceases to impress me. Jordan Rudess, who at the time was the newest addition to Dream Theater is a wizard on the keyboard, he really has fast fingers and his keyboard solos are absolutely stellar. The singer, James LaBrie, may not be the best singer in the world, but his voice is very appealing and the signature voice of the band.

If your interested and looking to get into Dream Theater this what you must get before anything else, no albums, this is it. It's a great way to see what these guys are really made of because sometimes it's just not good enough to listen to an album. Witness their true talent through this DVD.

"Best DVD ever....."
This Live DVD is perfect. It's just Dream Theater, their instruments, the fans, and the music. Their is no high-octane show, their are no special effects, and not even any lights that do really cool stuff. Yes, yes I know what youre thinking "So what exactly what makes this the perfect DVD?" Dream Theater dont play music to get famous, they play music because they are musicians, they do it just for the music. The entire performance was flawless, and beautiful. It was perfect, some say, that this DVD isnt cool because nothing cool happens, well DUH, thats the point!! Just listen to the music, thats why they played it. Dont get lost in the commercialism of how most rock stars perform. Ok, ok, I know, cool tricks, and displays are often cool, and make you enjoy the show even more, but when you have an album this beautiful and intricate, you shouldnt have to use cool tricks, and neat displays, the album is the real art, not the show. Dream Theater I think is very proud of Scenes From a Memory, and they wanted to show it by playing it straight through, and have to spice it up in any way. Simplicity is sometimes the greatest achievement a person could make!!!
Dream Theater Rocks!!!!

"Dream Theater : "Metropolis 200""
This was a major disappointment. This has to be the most amaturistic pile of steaming dung I've ever seen. I have lost all respect for DT after veiwing just 10 minutes of this DVD....

The whole set up is laughable. Their are about maybe 500 fans, and their is no stage scenery at all. It looks like it was filmed in someone's warehouse. The muscianship is solid, but not that impressive IMO. Everyone here raves about how great these guys are live, but there really isn't anything here to convince me these guys are for real. It's just plain cheesy.

I expected much much more than this. A big crowd, and big stage, and a big sound. I got none of the above. It's weak and very amaturistic for a band that's been around as long as DT has....

UP THE IRONS!!!

"DREAM THEATER all the way"
As a guitar player, I ordered this DVD for my son who is drummer. I decided to listen to it. What can I say. Petrucci, Portnoy, singer,,, keyboard.. are a perfect match. Singer adds a lot of punch to the song. Music is tight and high energy. One of the best DVD's I have heard so far. Worth every penny. Portnoy...what can you say !!! He ,along with the bass player drive like a transmission on a car. Superb. Hope to but another DVD soon. On a scale 1-10.... I give 15-18... way over the scale.
